Where to Buy Anti-reflection Coatings

An anti-reflection coating (AR coating) is a dielectric thin-film coating applied to an optical surface in order to reduce the optical reflectivity of that surface due to Fresnel reflections.

  • Does the coating have a sufficiently low residual reflectivity to avoid any problems with the application? Will that also be the case for some range of wavelengths, temperatures and angles of incidence?
  • In case of difficult substrates (e.g., very small end faces, strongly curved faces): will the coating safely stick to the surface?
  • If the substrate will be subject to large temperature variation (e.g., a nonlinear crystal heated in a crystal oven): are the thermal expansion coefficients of substrate and coating sufficiently similar? (Problems can occur e.g. for crystals with anisotropic expansion.)
  • For use with pulsed lasers: is the optical damage threshold of the coating sufficiently high?

OPTOMAN offers high-performance sputtered anti-reflective coatings with reflectance per surface down to R < 0.01%. IBS coatings are optimized for temperature and humidity independent performance, high damage threshold (in the range of 20 – 30 J/cm2, 1064 nm, 10 ns, S-on-1). Single wavelength, multiwavelength, or broadband coatings can be designed for 200 – 5000 nm spectral range.

With absorption being at low level (<1 ppm per coated surface at 1064 nm) AR coated windows and AR coated lenses feature enhanced lifetimes.

anti-reflection coatings

OPTOMAN offers high-performance sputtered anti-reflective coatings with reflectance per surface down to R < 0.01%. IBS coatings are optimized for temperature and humidity independent performance, high damage threshold (in the range of 20 – 30 J/cm2, 1064 nm, 10 ns, S-on-1). Single wavelength, multiwavelength, or broadband coatings can be designed for 200 – 5000 nm spectral range.

With absorption being at low level (<1 ppm per coated surface at 1064 nm) AR coated windows and AR coated lenses feature enhanced lifetimes.
