Diode bars (diode arrays) are high-power semiconductor lasers (laser diodes), containing a one-dimensional array of broad-area emitters, or alternatively of subarrays containing 10 to 20 narrow stripes. They can be used for pumping solid-state bulk lasers and high-power fiber lasers, or for laser material processing, for example.
