Buying Metal-coated Mirrors
Metal-coated mirrors, coated with materials such as silver, gold, or aluminum, serve as broadband, low-dispersion reflectors for numerous optical and laser technology applications. These mirrors can be tailored for different spectral regions, including the infrared, and are often protected with a coating to enhance durability and performance.

Hangzhou Shalom Electro-optics Technology Co., Ltd. A635, Boke Mansion No. 9 Xiyuan Road Xihu District, Hangzhou 310030 China |
Metal-coated mirrors have several important characteristics, including a wide reflective spectral range, low cost, and being non-sensitive to the incidence angle and polarization state. However, the disadvantages of metallic mirrors compared to dielectric mirrors include lower reflectance and laser damage threshold. Shalom EO offers two types of metallic mirrors based on N-BK7 or UV fused silica mirror substrates: N-BK7 metal-coated mirrors and UV fused silica metallic coated mirrors, with coating options including enhanced Al coating, protective Ag coating or protective Au coating and flatness options of λ/10 or λ/4. Both off-the-shelf and custom metal mirrors are offered. |
