Where to Buy Mirror Substrates
Dielectric mirrors and metal-coated mirrors are made by depositing some mirror coatings on mirror substrates. Different substrate materials can be used, for example BK7 glass, quartz glass (fused silica), sapphire and Zerodur. Relevant features can e.g. be surface quality, optical quality in transmission, thermal conductivity and coefficient of expansion.
