Periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) waveguides are a type of high efficiency nonlinear optical crystals, which cover a extremely wide wavelength conversion spectral range of 0.4 μm to 5.0 μm. The 5% MgO doping in LiNbO3 increases the optical resistance of the crystals and significantly improves its damage threshold.

Shalom EO offers MgO:PPLN waveguide chips for SHG of 976 nm, 1029 nm, 1064 nm, 1545 nm, 1550 nm, 1560 nm and 2100 nm. Products for SFG, DFG and OPO applications are also available. Both off-the-shelf and custom waveguides are provided.

Periodically poled lithium niobate: magnesium-doped PPLN is ideal for innovative laser applications due to its high effective nonlinear coefficient; allowing for high efficiency frequency conversion across multiple different mechanisms.
