Company Description
AMPHOS manufactures ultrafast lasers with world record parameters for advanced applications in science and material processing. Based on our unique InnoSlab amplifier, our product portfolio covers a broad parameter range with average output powers up to 1 kW, pulse durations down to 500 fs and pulse energies up to 50 mJ. AMPHOS has established a vertical integration from pump diodes, seed laser, amplifiers to system technology, that allows us to optimize every main component.
Since 2018, AMPHOS is part of the TRUMPF Group.

burst mode lasers | S E | ![]() All Amphos laser products are available with a burst mode capability. Our linear Innoslab amplifier chain can also carry out burst patterns with up to 10 pulses. |
diode lasers | S E | ![]() The Amphos6000 is a powerful diode laser pump source for high-power solid state lasers, which can also be used in pulsed operation. The focus beam cross section can have a homogeneous square, rectangular or line-shaped profile. The typical peak power is several tens of kilowatts. Most systems are custom build for the specific requirements. AMPHOS delivers the full system including control unit, chiller and software package (e.g. EPICS driver) to integrate into larger systems. |
diode-pumped lasers | S E | ![]() The AMPHOS laser products are based on diode-pumped laser technology. Efficient power conversion in robust slab amplifiers allows for extremely high average powers, pulse energies and peak powers, while maintaining good beam quality and requiring only a modest amount of electrical power. |
femtosecond lasers | S E | ![]() AMPHOS offers femtosecond lasers with several hundred watts of average power and high pulse energies up to several tens of millijoules. There are also frequency-converted versions emitting at 515 nm or 343 nm. |
high-power lasers | S E | ![]() Ultrafast laser systems from AMPHOS are suitable for applications in laser material processing as well as for scientific investigations in extreme parameter regions. The high performance, such as up to 1 kW average output power with high beam quality from the Amphos5000, bring various benefits in different application areas. |
picosecond lasers | S E | ![]() AMPHOS offers ultrafast lasers. The flexible Amphos1000 1030-nm seed laser (a fiber laser) is the basis for amplified sources like the Amphos1500 with up to 5 mJ pulse energy (for picosecond pulse durations), the Amphos3000 series with up to 20 mJ, and the Amphos5000 series with 800 W or 1000 W average output power and up to 50 mJ. Common features are a high beam quality, narrow spectral bandwidth, burst mode features and flexibility concerning the pulse duration. Typical applications are OPCPA pumping, attosecond physics, high harmonic generation and laser material processing. There are also frequency-converted versions emitting at 515 nm or 343 nm. |
pulsed lasers | S E | ![]() AMPHOS offers ultrafast lasers with femtosecond to nanosecond pulse durations. Due to the high repetition rate, that may also be used like cw lasers. We have a variety of versions, going up to the Amphos5000 series with 800 W or even 1000 W average output power and up to 50 mJ pulse energy. Common features are a high beam quality, narrow spectral bandwidth, burst mode features and flexibility concerning the pulse duration. Typical applications are OPCPA pumping, attosecond physics, high harmonic generation and laser material processing. There are also frequency-converted versions emitting at 515 nm or 343 nm. |
scientific lasers | S E | ![]() Ultrafast laser systems from AMPHOS are used in scientific applications such as OPCPA pumping, attosecond physics, high harmonic generation and free electron lasers. Due to the high performance, such as up to 1 kW average output power with the Amphos5000, scientists can explore physics in extreme parameter ranges and with high signal-to-noise ratios due to high pulse repetition rates. |
seed lasers | S E | ![]() The flexible Amphos1000 1030-nm seed laser (a fiber laser) can be used as the basis for powerful amplified sources. The basic version products 10-nJ pulses with 20–100 MHz repetition rate and pulse durations tunable from 1 ps to 500 ps. Amplified versions reach up to 2 μJ pulse energy at lower pulse repetition rates or in single shot operation. |
slab lasers | S E | ![]() The Amphos ultrafast laser systems are based on our unique Innoslab technology which has been developed since 2010. The quasi-linear amplifier chain offers highest flexibility while scalable average power up to 1 kW and pulse energies up to 50 mJ are achieved. Typical applications are OPCPA pumping, attosecond physics, high harmonic generation and laser material processing. |
ultrafast amplifiers | S E | ![]() AMPHOS offers ultrafast laser systems, including amplified systems with average output powers up to 1000 W at 1030 nm. Possible pulse durations range from femtoseconds to nanoseconds. There are also frequency-converted versions emitting at 515 nm or 343 nm. Typical applications are OPCPA pumping, attosecond physics, high harmonic generation and laser material processing. |
