With over 20 years of experience in the manufacture of PPLN, the team of experts at Covesion are well equipped to provide insight and guidance on the design of systems for generating visible and IR light.

MgO:PPLN is ideal for innovative laser applications due to its high effective nonlinear coefficient; allowing for high efficiency frequency conversion across multiple different mechanisms. MgO:PPLN supports a wide range of applications such as: quantum computing; frequency doubling of femtosecond lasers; mid-infrared generation; atom cooling; terahertz generation and biomedical imaging.

Off-the-shelf crystals and waveguides are available for SHG, DFG, OPO and SFG interactions. Covesion also manufactures a range of ovens and a temperature controller for precision thermal management.

The addition of MgO:PPLN waveguides to the Covesion product range allows end users to exploit greater conversion efficiencies and save on unnecessary pump sources within their applications. Waveguides are available as standalone chips or as robust, ruggedized packages with APC fiber connectors.

A custom design and fabrication service provides application-specific technical consultation with specialist grating design and contract manufacture. A range of custom design packages are available, including: one-off crystals, OEM prototyping and large-volume manufacture.

Our range of PPLN ovens are specifically designed to provide robust thermal management of PPLN crystals.

All of our crystals are supplied clip-mounted, ready for use in our ovens. The clips are easily positioned into the oven using the auto-locating pins, allowing the PPLN clips to be swapped with minimal realignment of the optical train. Finely sprung pins in the oven lid hold the PPLN crystal clip securely in place. The oven and PPLN crystal can then be mounted in any orientation, flexible to your choice of optical arrangement.

We also offer temperature controllers for use with our crystal ovens.

Frequency doubling/SHG crystals: Covesion has SHG crystals and waveguides held in stock that can be dispatched promptly to meet your application requirements. Stock MgO:PPLN SHG crystals and waveguides are available for a wide range of common pump laser wavelengths from 976 nm to 3300 nm, allowing generation of light between 488 nm and 1650 nm.

We offer magnesium-doped PPLN for Sum Frequency Generation (SFG) for cascaded THG from a 1550-nm SHG crystal, or from a fixed 1550-nm laser and a tunable Ti:sapphire (or similar) laser for tunable green generation. Stock MgO:PPLN SFG crystals are available for generation between 500 nm and 660 nm.

All stock crystals come ready clip-mounted for seamless and straightforward integration into our crystal ovens.
