We produce metal mirrors including diamond turned aluminum and polished nickel-plated aluminum and beryllium aspheres. Format sizes up to 500 mm and shapes to include off-axis parabolas, aspheres, toroids, and flats. Metal mirrors can be light weighted and configured with integrated mounting features.
We produce precision beamsplitters with multi-spectral and hyperspectral coatings. Our beamsplitters provide minimal beam deviation and maximal power throughput using adhesive free manufacturing techniques.

When it comes to technically demanding applications, Inrad Optics’ expertise in materials, fabrication, and metrology gives your custom design an edge in performance and quality.
Inrad Optics fabricates custom optics from an assortment of materials. Planar, prismatic and spherical components are fabricated from glass, crystal, metal, and semiconductor materials, and coated for specific wavelengths across a broad spectrum. Our technicians hold figure tolerances of 1/20 wave or better, angular tolerances of <1 arc second and surface quality of 10/5 or better, depending on substrate properties.
In addition to designing traditional glass mirrors, Inrad Optics employs proprietary single-point diamond machining and optical polishing methods to produce precision metal mirrors used in space telescopes and scanning systems.
X-ray monochromators, a type of bent single crystal component, efficiently focus x-ray emissions. Monochromators are used in a variety of applications–including x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) for elemental surface analysis, synchrotron beamline focusing, and plasma diagnostics in controlled nuclear fusion research facilities.

Barium borate (BBO) is a versatile nonlinear crystal, suitable for use in harmonic generation operations, optical parametric oscillators, and in electro-optical applications from the near infrared to the deep ultraviolet.
Inrad Optics leverages a wide range of capabilities in fabricating and testing single crystal x-ray optics; our implementation of exacting metrology and quality control techniques coupled with our proprietary optical contacting methods allow us to provide excellent quality bent crystal x-ray optics to the x-ray spectroscopy market, thus enabling improvements in measurement resolution.
UVC7 is a proprietary single crystal material ideally suited to filtering ultraviolet light in solar blind, sensing and other applications whose temperatures can challenge conventional UV filter crystals.
Our expertise in super-precision interferometer transmission flats begins with a deep understanding of the optical material. Its homogeneity, birefringence and other intrinsic characteristics all affect the performance of the finished optic. Our unique capabilities allow us to produce and measure our flats to λ/20 or better at diameters up to 500 mm.

|Pockels cell drivers||E|
The Inrad Optics V series Pockels cell driver is designed for fast, high-voltage switching for small capacitive loads, such as Pockels cells. It is compatible with our line of KD*P, LiNbO3, and BBO Pockels cells. The V driver plugs directly into a wall outlet and can be triggered either internally or via synchro.
Pockels cells are electro-optic devices used to switch the polarization direction of light beams. Their operating principle is the Pockels effect, by which an applied electric field produces linear change in the refractive index of non-centrosymmetric crystalline materials. Because their switching behavior largely depends on the drive electronics, Pockels cells offer a much faster response time than acousto-optic devices.
We offer custom dispersive, reflective and birefringent prisms in a variety of classical geometries including Porro, Penta, Wollaston, Rochon, Nomarski, Glan–Thompson and Glan–Taylor. In addition to monolithic prisms and contacted or cemented prism assemblies, Inrad Optics has experience in building high precision Risley prism steering assemblies.
The choice of a suitable crystal for a given electro-optic application depends on operating wavelength, laser beam size, damage threshold, average power handling, contrast ratio, extinction ratio and repetition rate.
Inrad Optics grows, fabricates, polishes, and coats KD*P, LiNbO3, MgO:LiNbO3 and BBO crystals. Each crystal presents unique advantages depending on the application.
Barium nitrate single crystals exhibit optical properties that make them well-suited for use in Raman shifting and related laser applications.
Inrad Optics integrates Scintinel™ stilbene scintillation crystals into a magnetic shielded housing with photomultiplier tube and associated electronics. Our neutron detector assemblies are designed for 25 mm, 50 mm, 75 mm, and 125 mm diameter crystals.
Crystalline stilbene is an organic scintillator used for radiation detection and is well-suited for discrimination between fast neutrons and a gamma-ray background.
Inrad Optics manufactures custom waveplates in a variety of materials and configurations, including ultra-thin zero-order waveplates contacted to BK7 or UVFS carrier plates, and air spaced, contacted and cemented assemblies.
