Our expertise also enables us to rapidly design, prototype and build assemblies and productions systems for a wide range of applications, in accordance with customer specifications. We develop customer-specific processes using our full range of tools as proof-of concepts and qualifying benchmarks, providing test components and custom system parts.

The AUTOCLEAVER series is a comprehensive product platform with various models for cleaving standard and large diameter optical fibers, all based on our proven and patented tension and scribe cleaving process. Different models are carefully optimized for precision cleaving of standard, specialty and large diameter fibers with cladding diameters between 80 and 1000 μm. A common feature is the automated cleaving process intended to provide consistent results and high production yield in volume manufacturing environments. Low maintenance requirements ensure trouble-free operation during long periods of operation.

We have an open interface for integration into automated production systems. Fiber holder solutions are available for use with fusion splicers from Fujikura, Furukawa/FITEL and Vytran. Dual fiber holder positions for comfortable use with FSM-100 fusion splicers.

They show crisp and clear fringe patterns and come with software for advanced measurement functionality. Ideal for use in production settings and when working with difficult to cleave fibers in laboratory environments.

Fiber holder adapters available for use with cleavers and splicers from the major splicer manufacturers. This facilitates easy transfer of the fiber from cleaver to interferometer and then onto the splicer with no need for reclamping.

NYFORS produces fast and advanced recoaters for different high and low index recoating applications. A common feature of all models is the flexibility with easy change of recoating material and fiber coating dimension. Silicone moulds are available for coating sizes between 80 and 900 micrometer with custom sizes available (also for coating sizes above 900 micrometer). Recoating lengths between 34 and 100 mm.

NYFORS offers different devices for fiber stripping:

• The AUTOPREP 2™ is a fully automated, high-speed fiber preparation unit. It strips, cleans and cleaves a fiber in less than 15 seconds. It is designed primarily for industrial applications, where accuracy, reliability and a high production yield are required. It is used for fast and chemical-free fiber preparation of acrylate-based fiber coatings and meets the highest industrial requirements of fast and consistent fiber preparation with extreme cleanliness and high fiber strength. Optimal cleaves are generated by a highly advanced and patent pending cleaving process.
• The AUTOSTRIPPER 2™ uses heated air for fast, chemical-free window stripping of optical fibers. It is suitable for acrylate coating diameters up to 550 μm. The AUTOSTRIPPER 2™ meets the need for variable and multiple window strip lengths at high strength and ultra cleanliness.
• The ULTRASONIC FC uses ultrasound at 40 kHz. It features dual cleaning positions and a large 0,7L solvent tank with programmable cleaning duration.

NYFORS offers fusion splicing and glass processing solutions utilizing clean and contamination free CO₂ laser heating. The SMARTSPLICER™ is a versatile product platform designed for the manufacturing of high power and sensitive photonics components.
