Photonic Science are leading manufacturer of high-performance digital cameras and detector systems covering the spectrum from X-ray, visible, shor t wave infrared (SWIR), and neutron detection. The Photonic Science 1,000 square metre facility at St Leonards on Sea (UK) contains manufacturing, production, clean room, environmental / X-ray testing, and research facilities.

We deliver cost-effective innovative camera solutions with selected components from concept through to volume production for OEMs including complete turnkey solutions involving cameras/illumination source/optics and imaging software.

Photonic Science’s ability to design and build specialist systems and undertake R & D projects has given the company’s engineering team a wide range of experience in diverse fields and the ability to transfer this knowledge to our customers.

camerasS Ecameras from Photonic Science

Our cameras offer up to 36.8 mm × 36.8 mm active area, 16 megapixel resolution and very good sensitivity thanks to high quantum efficiency peaking at 70%.

Array versions with multiple modules are also available, delivering up to 64 megapixel resolution.

The 16MP sCMOS detector delivers up to 9.5 fps full resolution and allows real time acquisition. A built in shutter allows smear free, shutterless acquisition even with exposure time down to millisecond range. Frame rate of >30 fps can be achieved when used in binning 2×2 mode and in local sub area mode or line scan mode.

A device server driver control allows remote aquisition through existing GUI interface. The cameras have a native 16-bit acquisition mode.

infrared camerasS Einfrared cameras from Photonic Science

Our infrared camera uses selected InGaAs focal plane arrays. Key features are low dark current and low defective pixel count.

Thanks to efficient cooling and stable offset, the InGaAs camera allows reproducible acquisition for precise metrology measurements in the SWIR spectrum.

The Camera Link and Gigabit Ethernet Vision compliant interface enables easy integration into existing systems. OEM versions with special form factors and cooling options are available for integration into specific instruments and systems.

X-ray camerasSX-ray cameras from Photonic Science

The X-ray sCMOS 37.7MP 1:1 detector offers a 61.44 mm × 61.44 mm square active area, with straight 1:1 fibre optic coupling to a 37.7 megapixel resolution sCMOS sensor. A custom scintillator is deposited onto the camera in order to allow detection of X-ray photons with 1 keV up to 100 keV.

The X-ray sCMOS detector delivers up to 11 fps full resolution, allowing real time acquisition.

A built-in electronic shutter allows smear free, shutterless acquisition even with exposure times below 100 μs. Frame rate of >100 fps can be achieved when used in local sub area mode or line scan mode.

A device server driver control performs remote acquisition through existing GUI interface, allowing easy integration within existing synchrotron or laboratory software.

The X-ray sCMOS 37.7MP 165 detector offers a round 165 mm diameter active area, fibre optically coupled to a single chip with 37.7 megapixel resolution. A custom scintillator is deposited onto the camera which works for 1 keV up to 100 keV.

The X-ray sCMOS detector delivers up to 11 fps full resolution, allowing real time acquisition. A built-in electronic shutter is suitable for smear free, shutterless acquisition even with exposure time below 100 μs. Frame rates of >100 fps can be achieved when used in local sub area mode or line scan mode.
