Prospective Instruments is a start-up located in Dornbirn, Austria, and Regensdorf, Switzerland. Founded by Dr. Lukas Krainer it started operations in 2019. Our main goal is it to provide the research and clinical community with a turn-key, flexible, modular and highly compact multimodal imaging platform. All researchers, scientists and clinicians should have access to high quality, affordable multimodal microscopes.

The MPX-series is a truly turn-key, integrated, compact, easy-to-use, maintenance-free and easy-to-install imaging platform which offers refined multimodality. The user does not need to worry about laser alignment, detection efficiency, non-compatible or misaligned hardware over time. It can easily be operated even by non-experts. The built-in multimodality combination of imaging capabilities allows more features for correlative microscopy of any system available. Once the sample is positioned the user is allowed to switch modalities, resolution and imaging level (micro or macro) without changing the device.

The device offers single-photon and multi-photon fluorescence imaging capabilities. The system is easy to handle and allows software controlled motorized switching between built-in multi-photon, fluorescence and brightfield imaging modalities – the perfect fit for researchers or facilities who work in a broad range of applications.
The MPX-series is an integrated, compact and maintenance-free imaging platform which offers expanded imaging capabilities. The user does not need to worry about laser alignment, detection efficiency, non-compatible or misaligned hardware over time. It can easily be operated even by non-experts.
The novelty of the MPX-series is in the compact integration of the light sources combining detection modules and beam handling optics. This enables a new perspective for exploring multimodal microscopy. The modular concept of the MPX-series includes three standard models which differ in the wavelength of the integrated femtosecond laser: The MPX-1040 offers one fixed wavelength at 1040 nm which covers a broad range of life science applications. The MPX-Dual with two fixed wavelengths, one at 1040 nm and the other selected in the range of 750 to 1300 nm. And the MPX-Tune with a fixed wavelength at 1040 nm and a tunable in the range of 750 to 1300 nm, engineered with excellence for maximized imaging freedom and flexibility.
