Raicol Crystals

Raicol Crystals offers various crystal ovens, based on either a resistive heater or a Peltier element. We also offer the required temperature controlers.

Raicol Crystals offers electro-optic modulators based on RTP (with a temperature compensating design) or BBO.

Besides, we can supply super-polished LBO crystals which can be used as the center piece of an electro-optic modulator. With its high resistance to laser-induced damage, LBO is very suitable for high-power applications, and its transparency range is large (160 nm – 2600 nm). We offer highly homogeneous crystals with up to 100 × 100 mm² and very low bulk absorption.

RTP Q-switches are ideal for high-performance applications requiring superior damage threshold and temperature stability, such as military, aerospace and high-power scientific lasers. Key specifications:

• high purity aperiodically poled KTP-APKTP

With their flexible phase-matching offers, these materials find many applications e.g. in frequency doublers, sum and difference frequency mixers, and OPOs.

Raicol Crystals was the first company to utilize the advantages of RTP Pockels cells for the electro-optic industrial mass market. They feature high laser damage threshold, low absorption and fast switching (at least up to 350 kHz) without acoustic ringing.

Raicol Crystals offers a wide range of electro-optic solutions, including RTP, BBO, i-RTP, and LN, catering to diverse electro-optic applications. Some of those are particularly suited for Q switching of lasers:

• RTP (rubidium titanyl phosphate) is an excellent choice for electro-optic applications, such as Pockels cells, shutters, Q-switches, phase modulators, pulse pickers, and more. The outstanding electro-optical parameters enable extremely fast switching with rise/fall times under 1 nanosecond and high repetition rates exceeding 1 MHz, all without ringing.
• BBO (beta barium borate) crystals combine a wide transparency range, high damage threshold, and excellent chemical and mechanical properties, making them ideal for various electro-optic applications.
