Dr. Gareth Moore
Dr. Gareth Moore joined RP Photonics in October 2022. He focuses on the software business.
With his experience in both ultrafast laser systems and computational modeling, he is a valuable member of the team of RP Photonics. After his MSc in Physics from the University of Pretoria, Dr. Moore completed his PhD at the University of Bern in early 2022, where he developed and implemented various ultrafast spectroscopic techniques. His main focus was in numerical modeling and data processing, spending considerable time developing data pipelines, user interfaces and packages for himself and his research colleagues. Along with the modeling of experimental data, Dr. Moore went further in applying novel machine learning techniques to molecular property prediction and signal processing.
Dr. Moore’s competencies and interest lie in photonics and computing, and specifically in tool building for improving ease and efficiency of scientific research and development. This fits perfectly to his role at RP Photonics. He particularly focuses on software development, but will also engage in technical support for customers and various other software-related issues.
