Optogama designs and manufactures laser beam expanders, beam reducers and divergence compensators which are used to increase or decrease laser beam diameter and control beam divergence:

  • compact motorized laser beam expanders of MEX and MEX-V2 series
  • high-power motorized beam expanders MEX-HP
  • fixed ratio beam expanders FEX series
  • variable beam expanders VEX and reducers VRE series

Optogama designs and manufacture motorized laser power attenuators (LPA) for laser power control. LPA are available for use in the UV, visible, and NIR spectral ranges from 250 nm to 2000 nm. These devices feature a large clear aperture dedicated for considerable size beam applications. All optical elements of these laser power attenuators are made for high LIDT and provide a stable and reliable performance even when using them with high power lasers in industrial applications.

Optogama offers different Er-doped laser gain media:

  • Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped phosphate glass
  • yttrium-aluminum borate (Er/Yb:YAB) crystal gain media

These are suitable for lasers emitting in the eye-safe spectral range of 1.5–1.6 µm.

Phosphate glass combines a long lifetime of Er3+ upper laser level with efficient energy transfer between Yb3+ and Er3+ ions and reduced upconversion losses, thus providing efficient operation in passively Q-switched diode-pumped and flash-lump pumped lasers used in range-finders.

Er/Yb:YAB is characterized by high thermal conductivity and demonstrates high average output power in CW and pulsed modes under diode-laser pumping.

Optogama offers various types of lasers: eye-safe 1,54 μm diode-pumped passively Q-switched and CW erbium glass lasers as well as passively Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers.

Eye-safe 1,54 μm wavelength nanosecond lasers of the “KAUKAS“ (1, 2, 3) series have a unique compact design and are available in OEM models for dedicated applications. These lasers delivers up to 3 mJ energy per pulse with pulse duration <10–15 ns, TEM00 beam profile and repetition rate of up to 5 Hz.

„KAUKAS HR“ laser models have an adjustable repetition rate and deliver more than 30 µJ energy per pulse with a repetition rate of up to 1 kHz available on request.

“KAUKAS CW” diode-pumped, solid-state laser models deliver up to 400 mW of continuous-wave power at 6 wavelength in the 1,5–1.6 μm spectral range.

Laser line mirrors from Optogama exhibit high reflectance over a particular spectral range, extending <10% of the central wavelength, at a specific angle of incidence and polarization for non-normal incidence. Reflectance properties are based on the optical interference phenomena of reflections from multiple dielectric thin-film layers, which are carefully deposited on UV grade fused silica optical substrates.

Nd:YAG passively Q-switched lasers of the "WAVEGUARD" series with sub-nanosecond pulse widths and a peak power of several tens of kilowatts are very compact. Additional harmonics modules for 532 nm, 355 nm, or 266 nm wavelengths are available on request for all models.

Optogama offers various types of neodymium-doped laser crystals:

  • Nd:KGW crystals exhibit strong and broad absorption and emission bands without significant luminescence quenching even for high doping concentrations. Optogama offers Nd:KGW crystals for medium-power but highly efficient continuous-wave (CW), Q-switched and mode-locked lasers with diode-laser and flashlamp pumping. In addition, it is possible to use Nd:KGW crystal for efficient self-Raman conversion.
  • Nd:YLF is characterized by a long lifetime of the 4F3/2 upper laser level. Compared to Nd:YAG, the negative dn/dT leads to lower thermal distortions and thus to a better output beam quality. Another distinctive feature is high UV transparency, which is favorable for pumping with xenon flashlamps.

Optogama supplies different types of nonlinear crystals for fundamental, applied research and industrial applications: BBO, LBO, KTP, KDP, DKDP, LiNbO3, AGaSe2, AGaS2, ZGeP2, GaSe, CdSe. The crystals are used for harmonic generation, sum and difference frequency mixing, optical parametric oscillators and amplifiers, electro-optical modulation and Q-switching, terahertz generation and terahertz detectors, as well as for characterization of ultrashort laser pulses by FROG, XFROG, SPIDER, dispersion scan, and chirp scan methods.

Optogama offer photorefractive bismuth silicon oxide (Bi12SiO20, BSO) crystals. These are highly efficient photoconductors with a low dark conductivity, that allows a build-up of large photo-induced space-charges. Tremendous photoconductivity and electro-optic properties make BSO crystals attractive for a range of applications: spatial light modulators, optical switches, phase conjugation mixers. BSO crystals from Optogama available in up to 3″ diameter aperture size. Crystals can be supplied with ITO coatings on request.

praseodymium-doped laser gain mediaSpraseodymium-doped laser gain media from Optogama

Optogama offers Pr3+:YLF laser crystals for visible lasers providing several laser wavelengths in the red (640 nm), orange (607 nm), green (523 nm), and dark red (720 nm) spectral regions. UV emission is possible with Pr:YLF by means of intracavity second-harmonic generation.

Raman crystalsS ERaman crystals from Optogama

Potassium gadolinium tungstate (KGd(WO4)2, KGW) as a Raman crystal features two strong Raman modes at 768 cm−1 and 901 cm−1, which are pump polarization dependent. Optogama offers KGW, KYW and BaNO3 crystals as Raman shifters for nano- and picosecond applications.

Optogama offers Co:MgAl2O4, Cr:YAG and V:YAG passive Q-switch crystals.

Co:MgAl2O4 (Co:spinel) is a very efficient passive Q-switch for lasers emitting in the range of 1.2 µm–1.6 µm due to good mechanical and optical properties.

Co:dpinel has a high absorption cross-section, which permits Q-switch operation of Er:glass laser (both flash-lamp and diode-laser pumped) without an intracavity focusing. Negligible excited-state absorption results in a high contrast Q-switch operation. Cr4+:YAG crystals are ideal for passive Q-switch operation of Nd:YAG and other Nd- or Yb-lasers emitting in the wavelength range from 900 nm to 1200 nm. A remarkable feature of Cr4+:YAG is the high damage threshold of >10 J/cm2 at 1064 nm, 10 ns.

Optogama standard high contrast Brewster-type and 45° thin-film polarizers provide high extinction ratio Tp:Ts > 1000:1 thanks to the ion beam sputtered (IBS) thin-film coatings. Moreover, these polarizers are ideal for high-power levels and in the UV.

Optogama designs and manufactures standard and custom Brewster-type high contrast polarizers for the wavelength range between 230 nm and 2000 nm with face dimensions up to 160 mm.

titanium-doped laser gain mediaStitanium-doped laser gain media from Optogama

Titanium-doped sapphire (Ti3+:Al2O3) has a very large gain bandwidth (670–1070 nm) in combination with excellent thermal conductivity. It is used for ultrashort pulse generation and in widely wavelength-tunable lasers. Optogama offers Ti:sapphire crystals with absorption from 0.2 cm−1 to 7.5 cm−1 at 532 nm. We achieve a high optical quality with FOM (Figure of Merit) > 250 for low doped materials and large sizes up to 110 × 110 × 40 mm.

ultrafast opticsS Eultrafast optics from Optogama

Low GDD ultrafast mirrors from Optogama exhibit high reflectance with minimal group delay dispersion (GDD) in a certain range of wavelengths and angles of incidence. These mirrors eliminate ultrashort optical pulse broadening effects and maintain high peak power as compared to ordinary high reflectivity laser mirrors. Our low GDD ultrafast mirrors are suitable for Ti:sapphire, Nd:glass or ytterbium-doped host based femtosecond lasers.

Optogama provides crystalline quartz waveplates, achromatic (broadband) waveplates, and mid-infrared waveplates:

  • Mounted crystalline quartz zero-order compensated, air-spaced half-wave and quarter-wave retardance waveplates are designed for a particular wavelength in the range of 257 – 1550 nm. Zero-order design features lower temperature and wavelength dependence compared to low and multiple order waveplates.
  • Mounted achromatic (broadband) half-wave and quarter-wave retardance waveplates are intended for several bands in the wavelength range of 460 nm – 1700 nm.
  • Unique zero-order, monolithic design mid-infrared (MWIR and LWIR) waveplates for the spectral range of 2800 nm – 10600 nm are available with quarter-wave, half-wave or any other custom retardance.
ytterbium-doped laser gain mediaS Eytterbium-doped laser gain media from Optogama

Optogama offers Yb:KGW, Yb:KYW, Yb:CaF2 and other Yb-doped crystals which possess a broad gain bandwidth that enable the generation of femtosecond pulses in diode-laser pumped mode-locked lasers.

Compared with other ytterbium-doped gain media, ytterbium-doped tungstates has fairly high absorption and emission cross-sections.

Yb:CaF2 features very broad and smooth emission bands, good thermal properties and can be grown of large dimension with high optical quality.
